100 participants!

Noam the gnome anda tirando fiesta - 100 participants! 🪅 This is the first funded study out of the lab thanks to the @confluencenter and @mellonfoundation who recognize the importance of elevating the cultural and linguistic wealth of the people from the borderlands, aka fronterizos.

We are so proud to have had amazing participants representing the full scope of the US-Mexico border, from Tijuana/San Ysidro all the way to Brownsville/Matamoros and everywhere in between, from 18 years of age to 92! 🤩

The representation of our community is lacking in the science and it’s amazing to see all the fronterizos come together to participate. Muchísimas gracias a todos los participantes! We’re not going to allow others tell us who our community is (or isn’t) and we are here to tell our own stories - for us and by us, con sus propias palabras! ✊🏽

The BABEL Lab is working hard to process all of the data we collected, running a few more participants, and are so excited to begin sharing our findings! More to come on this, stay tuned! 🤩🙌🏽
