Let's talk about Apraxia

Happy Monday, BABELers! We start this beautiful week off with an exploration of a speech disorder called Apraxia, thanks to the work of our awesome undergraduate research assistant, @iisaaciius 🌟

Apraxia of speech (AoS) is a motor, neurological speech disorder that makes it hard to speak. The brain pathways involved in planning the sequence of movements involved in producing speech is affected, including difficulty positioning certain muscle and articulation movements consistently. Speech-language pathologists can help identify, diagnose, treat, and manage this speech disorder! Swipe to learn more about AoS.

Note: AoS has no relation or association to being bilingual. Bilingualism does not lead to AoS and does not lead to increased risk of developing AoS.
